A Good Business Model for Service Providers
Now, as an employer I look out for my own health and that of my employees with my customers a close second. Now I am dealing with this same equation, soon illustrated...from the client/vendor point of view. Client's may not understand what we do, how we do it, or how long quality custom work takes to produce.
I set up this simple triangle to Illustrate fair client/vendor business interaction in which both parties win, get what they want, and employees are not overworked.
I did not attend business school and this simple illustration is probably already in a business 101 school book somewhere. I simply developed it through watching other service providers run their companies while I was working under the radar (very hard I might add).

Free Internet Traffic - A Must Read
Greetings friends and associates. So I've finally made the commitment to post useful content on Facebook and Google Blogger. What kind of Media/Marketing company would I be if I did not practice what I preach to my customers?
I work with a lot of small businesses and churches, creating media like video, print advertising, and websites for them. Most of them have a small or no budget for internet marketing so I educate them on ways to spend time rather than money on internet marketing. In the Google world back links are everything. Google uses a hidden formula to rank websites in the search results. What most marketing companies can agree on is back links are one of the primary ways to appear important to Google, thus increasing your page rank.
What is a back link? Simply put, it is a link to your website on another website. The more you have the more important you are in Google's eyes. A back link has a two-fold benefit. First, visitors can simply click on the link and visit your site. The second, hidden benefit is that the more back links you have the higher your ranking in Google, even if no one clicks on it. You're out there and Google thinks you're important when your link is embedded throughout the cloud.
So how does one build back links? There are many ways. You can have a link to your site in the signature of all outgoing emails. Another way is posting your business or ministry on an online directory like Manta. I recommend free postings/listings because there is no risk. You can pay for premium listings to gain greater exposure, but for the purpose of building back links, free is all you need. There are hundreds of directories out there, you simply need to find them. To find them, I often do a search for myself and see which directories come up in page 1 or 2 that list my local competitors. Makes sense, get in there too and you should yield similar results. Another way is to make sure you have a Google Local Business listing and a Yahoo Local Listing. I do this for my customers. It contains info about the business, a map to the business, a link to the website, a logo, and even a video now. Any free Google tool available like the business listing is important because Google is the one ranking your page so use their free tools. Craigslist is also a good free way to get traffic to your site. While you will get some bogus leads and spam you do get qualified leads by posting an ad on craigslist. I believe they have a community or events area if you are hosting a local event for your business or ministry as well. I have doubled my normal traffic simply by posting on craigslist. To post a back link in a Craigslist ad simply list your full web link somewhere in the ad like this http://www.ng-media.com .There are many other free classified sites like Craigslist. Even ebay now has a free classified listing site. Harrisburg Backpage is a good one. And you want to claim your free listing on Pennlive.com. Posting content about your area of expertise in your business on blog sites like this one, is also another way to get listed and found. Be sure to include a back link on those sites as well.
Another way to build back links is to contact friends and associates in your business that have websites and ask them to put a link on their website to yours in exchange for a link on your site to theirs. Link exchanging is a great way to build back links. You can also contact webmasters of industry sites you would like to be listed on in your field and see if there is a way to exchange links. In some cases you may need to pay for an ad or back link. It sure doesn't hurt to make a phone call and try!
One thing we do here for our customers that they do not have control over, is on-page optimization within the page itself. Building a back link campaign is what is considered off-page optimization. The method above and this method is the secret to being listed organically by Google, i.e. you come up in the center of the search results where most people click.
So there you are, free information from NG Media on building a successful online campaign for free. The only cost is your time!
If you have money to invest though and want help to get to the top of Google and "stay" there "organically" we have a secret weapon on board that is more cost effective than our competition.
One more piece of advice... "do not" do pay-per-click campaigns!
