A Good Business Model for Service Providers

I have been in this business professionally for 13+ years now and in 2001 I quickly learned through my own burnout, that something was wrong with my employer's business model. I tried to bring it to their attention because employees were tired and overworked.

Now, as an employer I look out for my own health and that of my employees with my customers a close second. Now I am dealing with this same equation, soon illustrated...from the client/vendor point of view. Client's may not understand what we do, how we do it, or how long quality custom work takes to produce.

I set up this simple triangle to Illustrate fair client/vendor business interaction in which both parties win, get what they want, and employees are not overworked.

I did not attend business school and this simple illustration is probably already in a business 101 school book somewhere. I simply developed it through watching other service providers run their companies while I was working under the radar (very hard I might add).
